Remember a time before the iOS14 update? Remember how we measured success? Remember how our ads looked? Remember the structures we used?<\/p>\n
Pre-iOS14 –<\/p>\n
What’s the latest hack, tip or trick?
\nABO or CBO?
\nAll the ads were boring static images.
\nTesting different variations of copy.
\nRunning the same image to 10 different audiences. Yuck.
\nMeasuring the do or die of our success on \u201cFacebook ROAS\u201d.<\/p>\n
Post-iOS14 –<\/p>\n
We\u2019re looking at actual BUSINESSES as a whole and growing businesses.<\/p>\n
No one cares about \u201cFacebook ROAS\u201d anymore because it\u2019s a time-based metric that doesn\u2019t give you an accurate view of the overall success of your actual business.<\/p>\n
We\u2019re focused on MER (Marketing Efficiency Ratio) or if you\u2019re a real expert CPA + COGS \/ LTV.<\/p>\n
We\u2019re creating amazing UGC content, that actually gives people an insight into your product and how it can change customers’ lives.<\/p>\n
We\u2019re mind-blowingly obsessed with customer service and customer experience.<\/p>\n
The list goes on.<\/p>\n
You could argue that all this would have happened even without iOS14, and maybe you\u2019re right, but eCommerce businesses are doing better than ever post iOS14 and it ain\u2019t because \u201cFacebook ads don\u2019t work\u201d.<\/p>\n
So if the sacrifice is less Ads Manager data for a clearer look at the overall business as a whole, I’ll gladly take that.<\/p>\n
The people that adapted to the changes thrived. The people that didn’t died (not literally).<\/p>\n
